Im getting really annoyed at this desktop hijack i have. Its a black advertisement for some spyware remover program. I have ran up to date versions of - AVG, Spybot S&D, Adaware, CWShredder, and other small programs to no avail. It seems that my computer thinks my desktop is normal because when i go to change my desktop image, it shows the right image and not the ad. So its covering up my actual desktop. but all the icons are there and everything. I had a problem with the spoolsrv32.exe virus but i went to windows explorer and deleted it manually. Now on startup it says it cannot find spoolsrv32.exe. Ive done everything i know how to do. Now i need your help! please! Im running windows xp and here is my HJT log.

I have AVG 7 with the latest updates... i didnt have the new hijackthis.

But now i do and the log still seems clean. Hotfixes might solve future incidences but wont help this current desktop hijack. This is really bothering me. Did the virus manipulate my desktop appearance files or something? please help me!

heres a new log with the new hijackthis

Just a hunch but try this:

Go to Control Panel > Display.
Click on the "Desktop" tab then click the "Customize Desktop" button.
    Click on the "Web" tab.
Under "Web Pages" you should see an entry checked called something like "Security" or similar.
Select that entry and click the "Delete" button. Click OK then Apply and OK.
