    Hello,

I have a CnM CORE usb powered external hard drive which is currently being a bit of a problem.

I hadn't used it in a while so earlier today went to try and update and backup some files.

If plug it in I get a blue light on the physical drive. Under "computer" I see the drive when I connect it for a fraction of a second, the device being plugged in sound plays, but then the drive disappears.

The drive itself doesn't seem to have anyway of opening it either. Usually I would be able to feel it vibrate, but not any more so I assume it is dead, although it does get warm? If so, is there any way for me to recover the data or something?

If you would like any more information, just give me a shout.

Thanks very much for your time!

Aha, thank you very much for that link, it was very helpful.

(I would have given the model number, but I honestly didn't know it, sorry!)

So yes, taking the drive out an plugging it in internally works no problem, which means that maybe something has gone wrong with the USB - SATA connector, which is a shame but not the end of the world. At least I have my files.

Thank you again for your help!
