Solved: Code 10 error

My CD/DVD player is missing!

(Pc = compq, running vista HP)


Yesterday all way fine.. was busy ripping CDs for my new ipod..
plugged new ipod in today... synced fine....

went to rip some more Cds..nothing. Checked device manager and it says code 10 error device could not start! It's like it doesn't exist.. checked for drivers... nothing new to help.

HELP!!!!!!

Have you rebooted since yesterday? Have you checked the cable? How old is this drive? They don't last a long time when used a lot.

twas bloody itunes!
I read on another site that it can do nasty things and sure enough,...uninstalled it and bingo my CD drive found its drivers again and is working, i a bit reluctantly.

Leave me with a bit of a problem with my ipod tho !!!!!!!! Seems one or the other will work!
