I am looking for a method that will preset the DTR and RTS lines on the serial ports of my computer. At the present time, they come up set to high when starting my programs which causes a problem (it has some hardware connected to them which should NOT be activated at that point of time). Maybe there is a simple way to do it from within Windows or maybe a program that can run?

You might try mode.com. Just open a command window and type:

    mode.com /?

for options. A batch file on boot ought to do the trick.

Great. That worked. Put a shortcut in Startup and sets up nicely. Thanks for the tip.
