I believe my computer has been infected again and I need help. I have a hijack this log, but didn't want to post because I saw another thread for these. I can't seem to locate it now.

Let me know where I can post for help.

You have a ton of problems

First you must move HiJackthis.exe to a permanent location and not a temo directory or the desk top

If you do not know how - http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe - double click the DL file and click unzip letting it extract to its default folder C:\Program FIles\HiJackThis, run it from there

Get all of these tools

SpywareBlaster 3.4 http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html * NEW *
AdAware SE 1.06 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html - * NEW *
MS AntiSpy - http://download.microsoft.com/downl...-fca2f2c6f0cc/MicrosoftAntiSpywareInstall.exe (XP and W2K only)

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
definition updates
and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
In SpyBot - After an update run immunize

After running those tools get this

Run ActiveScan online virus scan

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it. Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you can delete it yourself.
- Save the results from the scan!

Post a new HiJackThis log along with the results from ActiveScan

I ran hijackthis again from the program files subdirectory.

Downloaded all of the tools.

Ran spywareblaster after updating.

Ran SpyBot after updating.

Tried to Run AdAware, but my computer keeps shutting down initiated by NT Authority\System. Mentions RPC (Remote Procedure Call?) I get 1 minute before shutdown in the middle of AdAware execution.

Should I continue with MS AntiSpy or do something else?

clysoioor.exe keeps popping up during the active scan. I am denying it. Is that correct?

Add remove programs – remove newdotnet (if not there DL and run http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html)

Remove all occurrences of Viewpoint

DL http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the LSP application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Then click Finish.

DL and run http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Popup-Ad-Spyware-Blockers/EliteToolbar-Remover.shtml

http://www.mypctuneup.com/evaluate.php

Print this and boot to safe mode (Start tapping F8 at the first black screen after power up)
Fix these with HJT

I did the remove programs for new.net and viewpoint (2 existed).

I also ran the lspfix, but nothing was affected.

I can't get the softpedia or the mypctuneup.com links to function at all.

Should I proceed to the next step or try something else?

The log is attached.

I performed all of the tasks, except for the issues with the following:

lsp application did not remove anything.
The softpedia.com link did not work.
The mypctuneup.com worked when I ran it the second time.

Initially, running in safe mode froze the screen. Rebooted and the following were not removed in HJT because they did not exist.

O4 - New.net startup
O4 - ViewMgr
O4 - yzaaqr

The only executable deleted was eliterag32.exe because the others did not exist.

The c:\program files\newdotnet folder did not exist.

Everything else appeared to work as requested and was executed in the order directed.

Sorry for the delay in response. Work and kids called. Thank you for all of your time.

Fix this

O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing)

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find

System Startup Service

Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. File-Exit the Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.

------------

In Hijack This, click on the "Open Misc Tools section" button. Next click the "Delete an NT service" button. Copy and paste the following in that box:

SvcProc

Click OK.
