    Hi.

Recently, my com keeps crashing randomly. Most of the time it simply blacks out, and i have trouble switching it on for a few minutes before it works again. It can also freeze up during start-up loading. (you know, when the bar goes round and round with the logo above)

I've encountered blue screen of death once as well.

I'm using Windows XP, SP3 if i'm not wrong, i've no idea how to check it though. Thinking the crashes are caused by some faulty drivers, i've installed new ones via Driver Checker to no avail, the crashes still continue.

Oh, and when i play warcraft 3, sometimes the screen will.. crackle, for lack of a better word. I can't cross-check with other games since it's the only one i play though.

I do have a nagging guilt that it might be me playing for long hours, about 12 hours a few times a week? Would that damage the components in the pc?

I'm at a loss, any help would really be appreciated.
    Thank you.

[edit] oh god, i posted this at the wrong area, so sorry. x.x

    Howdy,

Play the game for a bit and then check the temperatures with this free utility and post the results

    Download and install hwmonitor
and see what the temps etc are

Also you can If you have any Minidumps then post them...you will have to click on Go Advanced and then Manage attachments in your post on this site to post them

You will find them at C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

Compress them either Zip or Rar and post them

Most of the Minidumps where Probably caused by : RtkHDAud.sys

this is part of onboard sound ...try and download and install any update drivers for it.

One was Probably caused by : atkdisp.dll.... think that is your video card...try seeing if any update drivers for it.

Thank you so much for your help. =)

I'm checking online for the latest drivers to the two that you mentioned, but it's hard since i do not know the current version of the drivers.

Was the PC built for you or does it have a make and model?

It was built for me. I've read around online and it seems that atkdisp.dll is for gaming, and i've tried the solutions recommended.

Currently downloading the driver for RtkHDAud.sys too.

Will report back if there's any crashes or if it's fixed, many thanks for your help. Cheers.

OK...your video card seems OK....but if you only played for 5 min hard to tell....your CPU seems a bit warm as you only played for 5min

Oh.. Just to be sure again, this is after 30 mins.

Is there any way to solve this without dismantling the pc?

Well the CPU temp has stayed constant....which is good........the best way is when you get freezing ...then take a look at the temps again and see if they are higher than what you have posted by a lot.

The loading of the game's still rather slow, and the screen is jumbled up when i'm playing sometimes. I'll check the atkdisp.dll again and see if there's any improvement.
