    My 4-year old Toshiba laptop is having severe hot flashes and dies on its own. I wrote earlier and agreed that it was overheating.

    Today it is not very hot here. And yet it died just a moment ago.

    I have not heard the fan, come to think of it, so I think it is broken.

    Is this an expensive fix? Wonder how much the Geek Squad will charge me to fix this FAN problem?

    Thank you.:)

    WOW - that's great. I'm printing it out but I know I cannot do it. I am not computer-savvy at all. I will just wreck the laptop.

    I will save up some money and take it to someone who can do it for me someday.

    In the meantime, I vacuumed the outside last night and also propped the computer onto some ice packs I had wrapped in a small towel.

    THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.:cool::eek:
