    Hello,

Could you guys take a look and see what is going on? Running IE6 and Windows XP. The CPU keeps jumping to 100% whenever you are online for a while and freezes the whole system. Thank you!

:p , I thought it was working right, but even right now the CPU usage is at 100%. I know there are a lot of processes running, but I don't know what to get rid of since this is a neighbors computer. It hasn't froze yet again, but I know running at 100% isn't good either.

Is the owner there? I wouldn't want to make changes without them knowing about it.

Yeah, they are here, but the one that knows the most about computers is their 11 year old son and he doesn't know that much.

McAfee needs to be running so we can't do anything about that but we can remove some other things from startup.

What version of McAfee is it and what level are the Virus Definitions? You can find all of that by right clicking on the McAfee icon in the system tray and selecting "About..."

Click Start - Run, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK - "Startup" tab. Remove the checkmark from:

    SunJavaUpdateSched jusched.exe

    RealTray realplay.exe

    QuickTime Task qttask.exe

    Yahoo! Pager ypager.exe

    MSMSGS msmsgs.exe

    Microsoft Office OSA.EXE

Click Apply - OK afterwards, then reboot. When the SCU window appears during reboot, ignore the message. Place a checkmark in the window, then click OK.

    That's not good! :(

That is the real problem here, McAfee is trying to update and can't. Can you try and do a manual update?
