Ok, so when I came in this morning, the boss's computer was dead. It was working fine when he left last night. So I switched the power supply and the cpu fan starts up and the light on the CD Rom is lit but there is no beep, no boot (the fan runs until I turn off the power from the power supply). The monitor power light flashes but nothing comes up on the screen. The motherboard is an ECS K75SA.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks!

Are there any disks in the floppy or optical drives?

Start by checking all of the power connections for anything loose.
Reseat the RAM, and disconnect all drives and PCI cards.

With the MOBO, Power supply, one stick of RAM, and video card if not onboard, you should get a display and a BIOS beep.

Try to get the system as small as possible and see if it is a major component.

No, still nothing. The cpu fan is the only thing working.

No, it's a machine that was built for us.

Do you think the motherboard is dead? Or could it be the processor, maybe?

It could be any of those things.

If you WANT to pursue this further, you'll need to do an out of the case build and see if you can get a display. That ECS board, however, indicates that you have some cheap parts in there, and you may want to consider just getting a new one.
