I'm guessing your computer is a Dell OptiPlex GX270 desktop.

It appears to have an Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio device.

What's the 7-character "service tag" number on the sticker?

Download and install the audio drivers from Dell. The link was provided above.

Correct Service tag

Here is the support and downloads site that's specific only to your Dell OptiPlex GX270 desktop.

I suggest you add and save this site in your browser favorites/bookmarks list so you can readily refer to it when needed.

When you click the Drivers & Downloads link, the drivers page will appear.

Make sure All related drivers for your Product and Microsoft Windows XP are selected.

Click the down arrow in Audio.

Click Analog Devices - Driver.

Click Download File.

Click Single file download - Continue.

Download and save the R58182.exe file.

After it's downloaded and saved, close all open windows.

Double-click it to start the install process.
