Solved: Computer won't stay on

    Computer keeps shutting down by itself. No blue screen, no error codes, no warning. Just shuts off and gives goes to the safety saving mode. Takes a while to be able to turn it back on, only to have shut back off by itself again. Time varies as to how long it runs before shutting down. Please help...

    Could be a heat issue.....check that all fans are running and that the inside of the PC is not clogged up with dust.......including the heatsink on top of the CPU.

    Hi and welcome. Definitely sounds like an overheating issue.

    Can you check the bios setup to see if you can see temperatures there....just leave it sit there until it shuts down to see how high the temp goes.

    A new "power supply box" (I'm sooo computer illiterate) was installed in the tower that fixed the problem.
