Content Advisor keeps resetting itself and won't let us see the weather channel, cnn or other"benign" sites. We reset it and go to another page and get shut out again.

We ran a virus check and there was none reported. In tandem with this is a box that says NETSURF with a red dot containing a white X and a box to click that says OK

When we ran the Dr. Watson untility, it reported the following:

ATMSYS.DRV has altered Windows System files

    What's wrong???

I did a search on this thread and found that several others had the same problem. Followed the instructions and it seems to be fixed.

What a helpful site!!! Thanks to the moderators.

Glad to hear it BearMom, apologies for not being able to help on this one.

On the otherhand, when you solve it yourself isn't that a great feeling!

Also, posting your solution would be helpful to future users as you have found yourself. Posting the link to the thread you used would do as well.

If you have any further problems with this issue, just repost to this thread.

    Tech Support home page

    Search (the globe)

    keyword: content advisor

This pulls up a whole lot of people who had the same problem. And the solution was almost always the same--rename the system file "Ratings.pol". The instructions are there.
