    Hi folks,

    Just a quick question here...

I am curious about the process of depositing cookies. In particular...the nuts and bolts of the process. Where and what are the actual codes that will deposit a cookie on a machine?

    Is it in the HTML?
    Javascript?
    Other?

    Thanks

    Thanks brendandonhu :)

Is there any other way for cookies to be deposited...other than Javascript? The site you linked (good site BTW) speaks only of "Javascript cookies". That lends me to believe that perhaps there are other methods maybe.

    Is ActiveX involved at all?

I am trying to troubleshoot a machine that will accept cookies from some sites, but not from others. There are no cookie filters installed and the security is set to ridiculously low just to test. It's almost as though the browser isn't even making a call for a cookie sometimes...let alone allowing it in.

It's IE 6 (SP1) and it just got installed, but this machine also had trouble with 5.5

Check the time, date, month, and year in the Time/Date control panel.

That does it......I am quitting computers for life. They are making my brain go soft.... :D

    I'll be damned.....

Brendandonhu...you have hit it! I have been fighting with that machine since yesterday morning. I forgot to set the day/time when I reformatted and reinstalled windows a couple weeks ago.

She is working fine now and collecting cookies.....and I feel like an idiot. :D

Guess it also explains why I kept running into expired certificates everywhere I went on that machine....LOL :D

    Thanks buddy... :)
