From what I can see, when looking at the Task Manager, I am continuously using all my memory. Attached is a screen shot. Can someone tell me from what they see if this is normal?

Please click here to download and install version 2.0.2 of the HijackThis Installer.

Run it and select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

The log will be saved in Notepad. Copy and paste the log in your next post.

    Do not fix anything

Can you identify the process hogging that CPU in the Task Manager > Processes?

Actually, CPU usage for Firefox on your screenshot is at 0%.

Click Show processes from all users.

Check all processes in the list.

turns out the problem was teatimer. I chose the option of not loading programs from startup and so it isn't reflected above. but when I took that option off, the problem came back again. teatimer continuously kicks me up to 100% cpu.

When I don't use teatimer cpu usage generally ranges from 4% to 50%.

Well, even 50% is not normal.

How much RAM is on that computer?

There are 3 g of ram. mostly it is under 10%, but it kicks up much higher when a program loads.

Have you tried disabling Spybot completely?

NO, i just disabled teatimer and left spybot...spybot itself wasn't causing any trouble.

You might want to try a Clean Boot, as suggested by joeten, to see if you can islolate another application that might be hogging that CPU.
