Solved: cpu or mobord shot

    Have a dell dimentions c521 poer switch went out, got that fixed now when you power up it comes on for a second then goes out. when you remove the cpu the power and fans stay on. do you think another bad switch or bad cpu or motherboard

    I would first change out the power supply with equal wattage or greater

    Replaced power supply, boots to bios with hard drive unplugged, plug the HD in it powers off after a second.
