Are you referring to a certain program or each and every program you use?

    Hi natb3

Right click on the Start button
Properties > Start Menu tab > Customize button
For the Number of programs on Start Menu take that down to zero.
Apply, OK to save and close.

Let us know if that works for you or not.

Your solution took less than 2 minutes and worked! Thank you so much. I thought this was some sort of spyware or virus but apparently the START menu setting just got changed (not sure how). Anyway everything seems to be normal thanks to you. Thanks again.

    Natb3:)

btw: You can add a program manually to the start menu, by right clicking either it's shortcut or the *.exe and selecting Pin to Start Menu.
