Solved: D-Link DIR-615 not connecting

    I have a D-Link DIR-615 and it's not connecting to the internet. I select Shaw for the ISP and DCHP, and my computer connects to the router but the router does not connect to the internet.

    I didn't install the disc that came with it. I didn't think I needed to.

    Can somebody please help?

    It's a cable modem, Motorola.

    Did you power cycle the modem when switching from computer to router?

    It's a necessary step unless the modem is a modem/router combo.

    not sure why you would select shaw for isp... but usually all you would need to do is plug and play. Your router should be set to automatically detect and get the information.

    FYI If your modem is a SBG900/901, or SBG6850, then your modem is also wireless.
