    Hi, please enlighten me!

I'm using Windows 98 SE and recently the default background image (wallpaper) appears during starup.

During startup the selected background image appears (I have been using this image for some time), then it changes to the default background image, followed by again reverting to the selected background image.

This began to happen only a few days ago. This problem is listed at Microsoft as a problem that may occur using ME, but the suggested solution does not fix the problem.

It's not a huge problem, but it is really annoying!

    Please help!!!

When you reference a MS Article please include the ID and/or URL. It makes it easier to know want you tried. It appears to be Q297186, at: http://support.microsoft.com/suppor...paper &rnk=7&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WINME

Is your wallpaper an image from an Internet page?

If choose a standard Windows wallpaper as your default does it flip back and forth?

If you disable Active Desktop does the problem occur?

    Thankyou so much... you're wonderful!!

I didn't know what the active desktop was.. but now I do and turning it off does the trick.

    Thanks!!

In case you want to know:

You suggested that I may have been referring to MS Article Q297186 - yes, you are right.

No, the wallpaper is not from an internet page and I had been using it for months and months without a problem!

Yes, if I chose a windows standard wallpaper, it still occurred.
