Solved: Default "TBD" in text box formatted for date?

My boss wants all fields to be populated on a form in access. Is it possible to have a default value of "TBD" (to be determined) in a text box that is formatted for a date?? I don't think so but I thought I would ask.

Thanks, Joe

If that field in the table is formatted for date and you try and enter text to will get a datatype mismatch. You could put in a data that happened a hundred years ago as the default (tbd date). You will just have to get creative.

You could display a dummy text box with TBD instead of the real Date Field in Forms & Reports, but it will take some VBA manipulation to do so.
Then you have the problem of Data entry, when a user click or tabs to the dummy field you will need to switch it for the real field.
