Hello, I'm trying to find out how to change my default video player and audio player.

I downloaded "Windows Media Player 10", once it installed, it then became my new default video and audio player. So now any video file or audio file that I want to view opens automatically with Windows Media Player. I want to change this so that my files open with another video player and also a different audio player.

I am running "Window XP Home", if this helps

    Please help if you can.

    One way is:
Go into Windows Explorer, View - Folder Options - File Types tab - scroll down to mpeg and other movie files, audio files, - choose Edit and pick what program you want them to open in.

Sometimes, if my mp3 or wav, etc. doesn't open where I want it, I open the program that I want it to play in and it ends up defaulting there.
    Kinda weird but it works.

is right click and click open with and then a box will pop-up and click or look for the media player you want to use then click the box where it says always use this program for this type of file type

    or

right click a file and click propterties and click open withs and change that
