Hi guys, I recently removed aol from my system the standard way of add/remove programs in the control panel. However when i did an advanced search of my system to see if it was fully removed, I found an aol file folder in program files, common files, which contains 357 files and 99 folders. Anyway when i right click on it and delete it i get a warning saying, renaming, removing or deleting "aol" could make some programs not work. are you sure you want to do this. My question is, Is it safe to delete this or will it affect any other progams on my pc that i still use. Please let me know. Thanks

    Hi and welcome

It should be fine. You can delete it and keep it in the Recycle Bin. See if everything still works (which it should) and if all is well, then you can empty the Recycle Bin.

After you do what Cheeseball81 advised you to do, restart the computer.

Everything will likely continue to work properly. (y)

Be real careful what you manually delete from inside the
    C:\Program Files
    C:\Program Files\Common Files

folders, unless you really know what you're doing.

Coming here and asking first was a good decision on your part.

I think I will leave it alone guys, its not taking up that much space anyway. Too afraid to delete it incase something else goes wrong. Thanks for your suggestions.

You might want to browse through the "Add Or Remove Programs" and make sure that you uninstalled/removed everything that's associated with AOL.
