I installed Nero Kwik Media successfully and all the desktop icons disappeared. I cannot drag them from the Start menu. I have WIN7.Any suggestions what I should do to get them back?
By the way, I uninstalled the program thinking that maybe the desktop icons would come back. Of course, they didn't..

Why can't you drag them from the Start Menu?

when I drag them, a menu comes up asking me if I want to create a link in the desktop. I click on "create link on desktop" and the icon does not appear..

Right-click the desktop. Look in View > Show Desktop Icons and be sure it is checked (you'll probably find all those links you made).

Is the option checked on the right-click?

    Open the folder C:\Users\<your username>\Desktop

    Are there icons there?

Thank you all for your answers. The View > Show Desktop Icons was not checked.
I don't know how it got unchecked since I never right clicked on the desktop to uncheck it.
