Solved: Dma Issues

    I am unable to set my primary ide channel to DMA MODE. DMA Mode is selected but current mode is PIO.....can anyone help?

    I have ran a test at PcPitstop and used Sandra Software to try and figure out why my video quality/speed isnt as it should be. Both tests told me to enable DMA to improve performance.

    what's the problem?

    broadband or dialup, what os?

    the card could be dying. :eek:

    Check the BIOS to make sure that you've allowed DMA mode on that channel.

    This is also a bug on 2K/XP, and was fixed with SP2 for XP. Here's the MS-KB Article about fixing it.

    My OS is Xp home and I am unable to get DMA to run on both Ide channels
