    Hi all,

Got a question for anyone who knows. I want to join some PTC sites. They require one IP Address and an email. I have a laptop with windows 7 and sometimes use internet other than in my home. I got errors when trying to login to my accounts, I believe it was because of different IP Addresses. Would a static IP Address help? If I had a static IP Address could I login at say the library or McDonald's and still have the IP Address I signed up with?

    Thanks,
    J.:)

Unfortunately no. You can set an IP address on your own computer for the local network, but that won't actually change what IP they see your computer as. The IP they see with depend on the actual internet connection being used, which would be your home external IP, the library IP, etc. There is no way that you can change the external IP address used by your local library or McDonald's.

I think your best option is to ask the managers of the sites in question.
