Solved: Does XP Have a File Repair Tool?

I remember that when I used Win98 it had a system file repair tool. You just put your disk into the CD tray and navigated to the bad file it Win98 would replace the file for you from the original Cd.

I have SP2. Does XP have a similiar tool? Where is it?

you can go Start>>Run type sfc /scannow click OK...............have your O/S CD handy

yes it does,

goto

start, run, type - sfc / scannow (note the spaces theses must be included as with 98 will will be prompted to load your xp disc
