Just installed Windows7 ultimate 64bit on my Toshiba Satellite C660 for a fresh restart. Unable to now connect to the internet because Ethernet, Network and PCI simple communications controller drivers are not installed. How do I fix this problem?

    Thankyou

    Hi and welcome to TSG.

What did you install Windows from? If it was the disc that came with the laptop all the drivers are normally installed as part of the factory reset.

If you installed from another, retail, Windows 7 DVD then you will need to go to the Toshiba website and manually search for the Windows 7 drivers for that particular laptop. This is the UK Toshiba site for drivers:

    http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK

There are links to Toshiba Europe and Toshiba Global in the top right corner of the page.

You need the Chipset drivers first to ensure that all the hardware components are identified corrently, then look at network adapter, audio drivers etc. Probably a good idea to install most of the drivers listed for your laptop on Windows 7.

What's the complete model number of that Toshiba Satellite C660?

There should be a dash ( - ) and additional characters after "C660".

    ---------------------------------------------------------

    Download MGADiag to your desktop.

Double-click on MGADiag.exe to launch the program.

    Click "Continue".

Ensure that the "Windows" tab is selected (it should be by default).

Click the "Copy" button to copy the MGA Diagnostic Report to the Windows clipboard.

Paste the MGA Diagnostic Report back here in your next reply.

You haven't replied to the first part of post #4.

I use those same instructions here all the time, so I don't know why you can't run it and obtain the report.

    You're welcome. :)

Windows 7 is pretty good about bringing up most needed driver updates when you do a scan at Windows Update. (y)
