    ok so I separated my HD into 2 different partitions. I installed vista on one HD and XP and another. Both installation went fine and since I installed XP last, I couldn't boot into vista. I thought when rebooting, the option should be right there. I try using Acronis OS sector but it still couldn't find vista as well. anything I did wrong?

    Start from the Vista CD and start to install again.
    It will eventually tell you the Boot manager is wrong and offer to fix it.
    let it.

    This does not work. It went all the way to the installation. Of course I had to stop it before it overwrites my previous OS.

    I'm having this problem yet again. Somehow I was able to fix this before and could dual boot fine. I had to recently reinstall before OS. I still can't figure out how to dual boot the two OS proper. After the installation of XP, it'll go straight to XP. I pop in the Vista CD and repair it. It repaired almost instantly and I could boot into Vista fine but can't boot into XP.

    Can someone please help me out here? I really need to use XP.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the link but I couldn't figure out how thats done.
    I found a program called EasyBCD and it easily fixed the problem.

    Good deal...Kinda figured the third party boot managers would be tackling the problem of xp/vista dual booting with something new and slick...

    Could you use the thread tools at the top of the page to mark this one solved, please??..
