After installing and removing (because it did not work with my printer), the latest Epson driver for an LQ570+ printer, I got a message saying that the above file could not be found. I removed references to it from the registry, but the computer still looks for the EXE file on start-up. What is it for and do I need it? It may, of course, be nothing to do with the Epson.

**I have a Epson 860 and E_srcv03 is referenced this way, but no 04. I presume that it may be in the same place and called the same thing.

Win98

Run MSCONFIG > Startup Tab and unselect
"Epson Status Monitor Environment Check"

Win95
Run Regedit
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run-

You should find the entry in the right window.
Select it, right mouse, delete.
