    Hi,
I'm having exactly the same problem as barbthepoet had.

I started to follow Mike82 instructions, but after I clicked on End Process, I got the following Task Manager Warning:
Terminating a process can cause undesired results incliding loss of data and system instability.
The process will not be given the chance to save its state or data before it is terminated.
Are you sure you want to terminate? Yes or No

I was so scared, that I clicked NO .
Am I supposed to take the risk by clicking YES?
I'm afraid to mess up my computer.

I don't know how to use the Safe Mode to uninstall the Dell support Center program.

That's the standard message you get from Windows when you manually end a process. You can go ahead and say Yes, it shouldn't be a problem. Then proceed with the uninstall.

If you ever need to start up in Safe Mode, press F8 a couple of times while the system is booting up. Here's more info: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

    Hi stantley,

They notified me by email that new mexico girl had just replied to a thread I had subscribed to entitled "end program sprtcmd.exe.... etc."
I don't know how her question ended up on my posts, but of course I was not qualified to give her an answer.

I just found another email telling me that you had just reply to a thread on my post. I read it, but of course it doesn't concern my problem anymore.

As for my problem, it seems to be solved.
After I clicked YES to terminate the process in the Task Manager Warning , I was able to remove the Dell Support Center program.

I only turned off my computer once since then, but this time I didn't need to click on "end the program" twice before it shut off.
I hope it will stay that way.
Thank you so much for your help.
