I am runnung Vista Ultimate and have an LG DVD/CD reader/burner and a LG CD reader/burner.

I tried to burn a music file to a CD (on either drive) and get:

    Unexpected Error preventing this operation.
Error 0x8007045D: This request could not be performed because of an I/O
    device error.

I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

    CAn anyone help?

    Thanks

    An upate.

I uninstalled both DVD/CD drive and CD/drive. I also uninstalled both IDE staorage controllers.

I then rebooted and found I could burn an MP3 file to a DVD but when I went to play it back, explorer opened the disk to approx 90% and then the computer locked up. I opened the disk on a dvd player and tried to play the mp3. It only had 2 seconds of music and then nothing.

I tried this a number of times with the same result. Also tried burning to CD with the same result (except I obviously didn't use a dvd player).

Commercial CD's and DVD's work fine.

This is the first time I tried to burn a disk since doing a system backup to another hard drive. Don't know if this has anything to do with it.

    Any help?
