When I boot up I am receiving the error: "problem accessing the system registry". What causes this error and how in the world do I fix it? I am running Windows 98. Thanks for your help.

The Registry may have become corrupted. Windows 98/ME makes up to 5 backups automatically. To restore a backup use the Windows Startup diskette or depress and hold CTRL key after the hardware list is posted, select MS-DOS Mode. Once you are at a C: prompt type: SCANREG /RESTORE

A menu of a list of backups will be displayed, select a date, and reboot.
