Hey all,

I just recently started up my 98se PC & got an "Error" message during the log-on screen. I have to press "any key" to proceed. Here's the message"C:\progra`1\symantec\symevnt.386".....now I recently removed Norton's from my system...so I thought !!! I used the uninstaller on Norton's System works. Any ideals on how I can get rid of this file. I've tried searching for it for hours...nothing !!

Run regedit navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\SymEvnt

and right click on and delete the SymEvnt key.

Great, I'll mark the thread "solved" then, but be aware you can also do this yourself when appropriate using the Thread Tools menu.

You're most welcome for the help!
