On start up I get the error shown in the image. How do I stop this happening?

Also system configuration utility error comes up...as I have changed the setting...how do I resolve this?

Click Start > Run > type msconfig

    Click OK.

    Select the Startup tab.

    Uncheck anything related to QuickTime.

    Restart the computer.

After restarting, when the small "System Configuration Utility" window appears, ignore the message. Put a check mark in that window, then click OK.

The top 3 entries(igfxtray, hkcmd, igfxpers) can be unchecked, but they have nothing to do with QuickTime.

qttask or QTTask is usually what the QuickTime startup entry looks like.

Where is the bottom half of the System Configuration Utility window so we can see the rest of the list?

It's only those four items, everything else was unticked before and due to that I got the original issue (first post).

igfxtray, hkcmd, igfxpers - what programs do they relate to?

Let me know if you're still getting the error message on startup after uninstalling QuickTime.

These 3 entries are associated with Intel integrated graphics. They don't need to auto-start and run.

What should the startup item name be for firewall?

If you're using the built-in XP firewall, there won't be an entry in the startup list or in the services list.

There's no compelling reason for most people to install and use a third-party firewall - such as ZoneAlarm and COMODO.

    Off the topic.

Is it true that Apple MacBook's are the most secure laptops (on security)?

    Thank you

I know nothing about Mac computers, so someone else will need to address that.
