Solved: error message

    running win xp and when i try to run a program i get this message

    the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

    click again to try again or enter an alternate pathto a folder containing the installation package "hpmdinst.msi

    What program are you trying to run when you get the error message?

    The file "hpmdinst.msi" is part of the installation for "HP Memories Disk", one of the programs bundled with some HP printers. The Windows installer is looking for this file to complete an installation (which may be a glitch from who knows where) and that's why the error message is showing up. The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility can probably clear it up.

    trying to run anaconda remote manager for black hawk down

    Windows Installer Cleanup Utility did not help

    How about passing beyond 1 word answers here so this won't take a year...
    Did you ever own an HP Printeror any other HP peripheral because it appears you did. Go into Control panel, Add/Remove programs and uninstall the software for it.
    Go into "Run, msconfig,ok,startup" and if you see "hpmdinst.msi" uncheck it hit apply and reboot or any other HP entry that may be left over...

    this is the question that was asked ....Do you have an HP printer installed? so the appropriate answer is nope a lexmark p4350

    had i been asked Did you ever own an HP Printer or any other HP peripheral ?? than i would of answered yes

    but this is solved now so thanks for ????? really don't know how to finish this politely
