    Hello,

My problem is that I can not access the internet and print at the same time. I access the internet thru a modem with a ethernet connection directly to my laptop and I also have a wireless router (TrendNet 54 Mbps, TEW-432BRP) that I use to connect 2 printers.

If I want to use the internet I have to disconnect the wireless router and then if I want to print, I have to re-connect the wireless router which then prevents me from accessing the internet. I can only connect to one of these at a time which is driving me crazy.

I also receive error messages about ip address conflicts on my laptop so I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem. I hope someone can help me with this.

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Ok, I ran this twice. The 1st time I was connected to internet thru ethernet connection only, nothing else was connected.

Use a static IP configuration on the wireless, leaving the Default Gateway and DNS servers blank.

Open the Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter settings - right click on the wireless - Properties - select Internet Protocol Version 4 - Properties - set an IP address 192.168.10.x, where x is outside the router's Dhcp server's address range, and Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 - OK - Close.

All right, it now works. I can access the internet and print at the same time. But, the network icon has a yellow exclamation point and It tells me that it is an unidentified network and when I go to network sharing it says it's a public network. Do I need to do something else? I have not rebooted my computer at this point.

If you want to change the (wireless) network to Home click on Network (bottom of Navigation Pane in Windows Explorer). I expect you'll get a message about the network being public, and do you want to make it private or make all networks private. Make the (wireless) network private (or Home), but be careful to NOT make the ethernet private since you are connected directly to the internet through a modem.

I only recently found this procedure, and do not have any idea how it will work with two public networks (one of which needs to stay public).

Ok, I don't see exactly what it is you wanted me to do. I attached a doc file with a print screen of what I was looking at so may be you can see what I see.
