after running the EQ patch, i click the "PLAY" button and get the following message: " Everquest has caused an error in DDRAW.DLL Everquest will now close...If you continue to have problems, try restarting your computer."
Well, I tried that several times to no avail. I also ran my Norton WinDoctor and Norton Disc Doctor but still get the same results. Any advice(in Layman's terms, please) on what I should do to to fix this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

The first thing you could do is install <A HREF="http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp">Microsoft DirectX 8.0a</A>

If no joy, try updating your video driver.

    Good luck,

If that doesnt work, try uninstalling and reinstalling both EverQuest and DirectX, if you can...

Both will probably be accessable through Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

    Problem solved!
WHat had happened is my 'puter crashed, and i had to use the the recovery CDs...then i reinstalled Everquest (+Velious and Luclin of course). the Luclin disc had an option to install DirectX8,which i did click on, but apparently it didn't get reinstalled with the rest. Anyhow, i went ahead and downloaded and installed the DirectX8 again and everythings Ok fine. Now I can get back to my daily EQ fix!
Thanks much for the help, you two :)
