In Excel 2007, Is there a way show a date stamp of when data was entered into a cell? So when you hold the cursor over the cell it shows you the date the data was entered?

have you thought about using the tracking in Excel? click on the Review tab, the changes will write the date and what was done to a comment in the cell which will show up when you point to it.

Looks like it doesn't save the tracking information after the Spreadsheet is closed and re-opened.

it does, you just have to go back to the tracking menu and select "ALL" from "Since I Last Saved"

Also, it does save the info but I have to go back in and turn the tracking back on after saving and closing for it to show it. Any ideas?
