Solved: external dvd burner ???????????

    hi guys, so i don`t have to keep taking my pc case apart to replace parts,i was thinking about getting an external dvd burner,are they any good & how do they attach to my pc ???? i know this question may sound dumb,but i am learning as i go !!!!:

    1. they are a good idea *** long as you don't mind it on your desk. external means less heat in your pc and depening on type of hookup they can be just as fast

    2. usually by usb or firewire/1394 ports

    thanks very much for your advice,i am learning how to work my way around my pc,but when it comes to replacing parts, no experience,thats why for me it would be easier to have attached external hardware where possible...

    You'll pay twice as much for an external drive versus an internal one. And of course you'll also need a spare outlet on your surge protector.

    thank you also for your reply,it will give me something to think about,i do so very much appreciate you guys taking the trouble to help us beginners,i have never come across such kind people,your blood is worth bottling!!!!!!!!!!
