    Hey guys,

So for some reason, When I right click on my external hard drive in disk management to choose to shrink it, I don't have that option. I mean i've looked all over youtube and found guides how to partionize a external hard drive but for my hard drive, I don't get the option to shrink the volume. Why is this? Any help I can fix this? thanks

    Hello,
Is the selection to shrink the drive grayed out or it isn't displayed at all?

How large is the drive and how much data is on it?

You may not be able to shrink it if files are near the partition boundary. Defragging might help. What is on the drive?

Are you planning on creating a new partition on that drive? Does it have only 1 now and is it a primary partition or logical?
