Okay, I recently have been trying to fix a laptop I got from my friend. It's a toshiba satellite L355, with windows vista on it. I can't boot to the recovery partition, and it won't let me install and new OS. I have tried Windows 7 (freezes when i try to repair or new install), XP i get a BSOD (0x0000007B), and burned a new windows 7 to try and still not working. Any ideas?!?!

Thanks,
Joey

Have you tired testing the hard drive and the memory? Try using the Ultimate Boot CD, it has Memtest86+ for the memory and each manufacturer's hard drive diagnostics for testing the hard drive: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Thanks for the reply, but I attached the hard drive to another computer and installed the OS from there. Went smoothly, so I have no idea what the problem was.

Ok, just mark this thread as solved as long as the problem has been resolved.
