i am extracting kernel32,cabview, but how do you know which folders to put them in,is it a case of find folder such n such ,once located click n drag?dont know much about pc but try,glad of any help,once it is in the correct folder is that it installed or?flavallee said:If you can extract the files from the Windows 98SE CD, it's just a matter of saving them somewhere, then placing them in their proper folders.

The KERNEL32.DLL file goes in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder.
The CABVIEW.DLL file goes in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHELLEXT folder.
Make sure to reboot afterwards.
