I have noticed that my system takes very long time to display a jpeg file, of late. The files are large (15MB to 24MB). All my photos are on external drive (networked) or on USB drives. I have 3GB Ram and attached is the HJT file. I also noticed that my start up is very slow. Appreciate any help.

you seem to have alot of security programs, this could explain your poor system performance.

files comming from USB will be slower and LAN faster than USB but still slower than a local HDD, for purposes of working on large files maby copy them to a local HDD the return them to the ext when done.

I am not security/HJT certified on TSG, if you are unsure please post your HJT report on the HJT forum.

also consider doing a system cleanup* then running defrag

*remember to delete unwanted FILES, and remove programs with Add remove Programs (XP)/Programs and Features (vista/7)

you might also like to post your full system specs.

As far as your slow start up go to Run> type in msconfig ok> click on start up> un check the programs you dont need on start up.

Two antivirus programs will slow you down. You need to uninstall either McAfee or Avira using Add/Remove Programs.

Thank you all. I will follow up in HJT forum and also remove one of them. I will run the msconfig. Where can I find what programs are required at the start up? Also, is it ok to remove McAfee? It came with the system.

    With best regards,
    Sury

You can remove Mcafee and will cause no harm.
