I am able to navigate to websites but my email account keeps running and doesn't open in Firefox. What I do get is the following below. I am able to see emails through IE however, and checking through Google, that 500 error appears to be on the server side not the client side so I suspect there's some problem with Firefox's server. In any case, I upgraded firefox and got the same problem. This was the error message:

description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

I called my ISP and was instructed to uninstall Firefox then reinstall it. I did and get the same error message. I am able to navigate the web but can't log into my email address with Firefox. I am able to navigate the web and use my email account with IE.

What happens when I try to log in to cablevision's webmail, I keep getting that http status 500 error message. Yet the techs at cablevision are able to use Firefox to use webmail.

I am at a complete loss here.

The solution was found at this link below. Basically, I wish I understood how clearing the history and cache allowed my webmail with Firefox to work again but I'm happy it is working and I am leaving this link for others who may be struggling with this issue.
