Not sure if this is the right place but when i visit some websites they inform me i must install the latest version of Adobe Flash. This I do and according to the installer all is ok - Flash installed succesfully- or words to that affect appear. However whenever I return to so called sites they still insist that Flash must be installed even though I just did so - this is after re-starting I.E. and even the computer.
System - Windows XP SP 2 512MB RAM Blah Blah........
Not a major problem but rather annoying if anyone can help much appreciated.

It might be a bug in IE. Download and install Firefox from mozilla.org, and visit the same websites. If the little message pops up, install it and restart Firefox. Reply if it pops up again.

I had the same problem.
Use this link to uninstall. Follow the instructions then re-install.
