    In Folder Options, "Hidden Files and Folders" Entry is missing for me.
    I am Windows XP SP2 User
    I had a trojan..so the folder options were first disabled..but now i cannot have the "Hidden Files and Folders" entry in the folder options. Now the folder options open.
    Due to this i am not able to view my hidden files.

    Thank you. :)

    Have you tried running the windows boot disk and repairing windows?

    I have tried the following reg entries..

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoFolderOptions"=dword:0000000

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions]
    "NoBrowserOptions"=dword:00000000

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Window s\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

    Delete the value CheckedValue. (Its type should be REG_SZ and data should be 2.)

    Create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD). Modify the value data to 1 (0x00000001).

    This should let you change the "Hidden Files and Folders" option.

    All teh above were only able to show the folder options dailog box but not able to show the
    "Hidden Files and Folders" option.

    Hello,

    Open regedit.....

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\

    Setting the Hidden setting to 1 shows hidden files, setting it to 0 does not show hidden files

    This will show hidden or system files, but not files that are both hidden and system.

    With regards
    devil

    just for curiosity, on my registry it has the number 2 entered. when i run 1 or 0 it follows like you said, but 2 seems to be like 0. is there any difference?
