    Hello,

If I use some true-type fonts I downloaded from the net on my website, will my visitors also have to have the same fonts installed on their com to view them? Or will they default to the users preferences if they dont have them installed? The fonts are rather unorthodox (horror type fonts) and so I dont want to waste time by using fonts no one will be able to see anyway.

    Thanks!

They must have to fonts locally. Ways to accomplish what you want will be soon available with CSS, but are not yet supported.

So your saying, just having them uploaded to my website isnt enough?

What else would these types of fonts be good for exactly if nobody else can view them?

    (sorry, im a big noob!)

You could put the font on an image and use that. They'll be able to see the font on an image. Since it isn't test, but rather an image ;)

There is a way to use uploaded fonts, as noted on w3.org, but very few browsers support it. It's mostly just an unsupported test to get ready for CSS3, which isn't out yet
