Hi there,

Open a cmd prompt.
Start > Run... [type in] cmd > Ok
At the prompt, enter the following two commands:

attrib -h -r -s F:\Autorun.inf

del F:\Autorun.inf

The problem is that windows is trying to run the hard drive as if it were a cd because there is a file called Autorun in the root of the drive. You need to delete this file. Try the commands again, but first type in this command:

cd /d f:

If that still doesnt work try going into the drive using windows explorer (like you are doing now, only right click the drive and select "Explore"). You will then delete the Autorun file by right clicking and selecting delete.

You might need to unhide the hidden files if you do not see the file there. For that:

Show hidden files and folders

  • Open the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel)
  • Double-click Folder Settings (or Folder Options)
  • On the View tab, uncheck Hide protected system files (recommended). A warning will show, just click Yes.
  • Check Show the contents of system directories
  • Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
  • Scroll down and choose Show hidden files and folders
  • Press OK to save changes.

You should post that in the Malware Removal & HijackThis Logs thread to get the best help for that. I am not allowed to review HJT logs seeing as I am still in training at the Malware Removal University.

I'm glad you resolved the issue :D Please mark this thread as "Solved" by clicking on the button at the top of this page.
