Solved: getting rid of microsoft office picture manerger

    how do I get rid of it as it has controll of my pictures when I preview them.I don't want it but can't get rid of it from add/remove programs its not there. I can't delete office cause if I need to reformate the hardrive I would have to install office and I don't have a disk it came installed when I got the computer from the store. its anoying as its a free trial witch is expired so I can't rotate images or anything except view them

    You should have some installation medium if it is on the computer. You need to run Office setup, choose a custom installation, and remove the picture software that way. It may be on your recovery CD's (or a recovery partition on the hard drive).

    nevermind all I had to do was click on a picture click on properties click on view with click changed and selected windows picture and fax viewer like it was before. so now all my pics open with that. don't know how it got changed :confused:

    Thanks for following up. It's possible that the app may "steal back" the file associations, but that is not likely unless the program is run again.
