My Google Chrome browser is taking FOREVER to load under my Windows Xp OS.

I tested Mozilla and it works just fine.

For Google Chrome I did the following but it did not help:

Follow these steps to change your proxy setting (for Windows):
    Click the Tools menu.
    Select Options.
Click the Under the Hood tab.
In the "Network" section, click Change proxy settings. This will open the Internet Properties dialog.
    Click LAN settings .
Deselect the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

You appear to have a Dell OptiPlex 755 - which has good hardware power to run Windows XP SP3. (y)

The setting changes you made in Tools - Internet Options affects only Windows Internet Explorer and does not affect Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

I've never used Google Chrome and never will, so I'm not familiar with its settings.

I'm guessing at this point that too many add-ons in it are increasing its loading time.

Can anyone recommend a general troubleshooting path whereas i can start tracking where the problem may be?

Bob, you've probably already tried these things but, just in case...

    1) Have you cleared browsing data (ctrl+H)? There are several options in that menu that you may wish to change. I have "Clear browsing history", "Clear download history" and "Empty the cache." I clear this daily and it seems to speed up things.

    2) Verified current version? Version 27.0.1453.110 m

    3) Do you have unnecessary Extensions and\or Add-ons in Chrome?

    4) When all else fails, you can always go to the Chrome Help page and search through the support topics. Maybe you'll find what to do there?

Yes, I tied all the above in addition i complete REMOVED Google Chrome and then re-installed it and the same problem of loading SLOW still remains. What's really weird is that when i go to GMAIL it reacts supper fast but when i click to go anywhere else on the web it can take up to 30-60 seconds and sometimes never.

I'm perplexed by this issue. Mozilla works just fine.

Sorry I thought I posted the solution....there was a malfunction with iTunes where the program was just slowing my PC down to a crawl. I eliminated iTunes, everything works fine now.
