Hello everyone, I have recently purchased a brand new graphic card HD 7850 oc edition by gigabyte. When I am gaming it sometimes turns off. only the graphic card turns off ie the VGA fans stops. The processor fan still running and no error beeps.

when i use my old 9600GT i can play games for 10 hours straight and nothing will happen.
I have searched the internet, others seem to have the same problem. But no fixes.

Powersupply 650w, so im sure i have enough power.

games I play. Aion, C9, mass effect 3.

I sent it back to the company and they returned it to me saying there is nothing wrong with.
someone suggested that I should run benchmarking softwares to test it out. So i did. I used a few of them like Heaven and OCCT.
I ran them for 24 hours straight and i had no problem.

only happens in games. Maybe a little faster in Aion.

what do you think it is? I personally think its damaged.

    max temp on load 42c

I'm running windows 7 64bit. Aion and C9 automatically patch since they are mmorpg.

No error messages, just black screen, and when i look at the graphic card i see the fans have stopped working.
I called the up the company and told them about it after they returned it, and they said to me that they only benchmark/stress test and they wouldnt actually run games to check for the actual issue.
I'm sort of frustrated, I have paid 300usd and im not even using it

reinstall the video drivers by this method

in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose low resolution mode
    when windows finishes rebooting
    disable a/virus
    install your drivers
    reboot the computer

the graphics fan should be spinning

So this happens in your system and your friend's system? If so then the graphics card is faulty, send it back for warranty replacement and make them replace it.

Yes the same issue happens in both systems.
Fresh windows install, its definitely no driver issues.

The company says they wont replace it for me. So i dont know what to do. maybe dip it in water or up the volts

    Why? To destroy it?

I'd request to talk to a manager or higher level techs, it's Gigabyte you are talking to correct? Or where was it purchased?

yeah because i sent it to RMA twice, they dont want to replace it or fix it. They tell me as long as it can run programs such as OCCT/heaven etc without any problems they wont be replacing

yes purchased it directly from gigabyte dealer/whole saler. paid extra for it, its a year old card paid about 300 USD
